The Thebes Times

Antigone-The Daughter of Oedipus
Faces Her Fatal Destiny?

Antigone was caught in the action of burying her brother Polynices’s body. This was an action against her uncle, the King of Thebes-Creon’s new proclamation. The proclamation prohibits anyone to bury Polynices’s body.

The two brothers, sons of Oedipus have killed each other in the combat. As King announced that Eteocles who was the hero of the Thebes should be buried with the highest honor. On the other hand, his brother Polynices who attacked the Thebes with enemies must be unburied and his corpse carrion for the birds and dogs to tear.

Now, the shocking news just spreads widely through the country-Antigone dishonored her uncle’s new proclamation and buried her brother Polynices’s body. Just a short time ago, King also announced that his son Haemon and Antigone would be married to each other. The one who broke King’s law was not an outsider but a family member of King’s. What should the King do now? And what kinds of destiny will Antigone facing? It is a big and curious question for all the citizens in the Thebes.
