Recently I've seen a lot of questionable behavior on the part of several Static members, and I think it would be good get an idea of what we expect out of people in terms of maturity and pro-guild attitude.

First, the immaturity that has been witnessed within the past several days has upset more than one member, and needs to be addressed. I understand that we are in the process of building our membership, but I think more care should be exercised before accepting new members at this point. It's easy for me to say this since I am a member, but I wouldn't have become one if I didn't believe this guild would present a respectable image. I've known some of the members for several years, and trusted their judgment when decided to switch servers to join them. It saddens me that one of these members, Leviathan, has left, and I hope conditions do not deteriorate to the point where I myself should choose to leave.

We've accepted several initiates in the past couple weeks, and it seems overwhelming to get to know all of them. This presents a challenge for each member to keep in mind that we are in a guild to help each other, and I myself feel that I have violated this attitude. I think it would be beneficial to discuss to what extent we are indebted to each other, and I'd propose a system that is fairly simple and agreeable. Keep in mind that this is how I feel, and is not in any way what how the guild itself feels. I have absolutely no say on this matter, but I would like to make suggestions.

1. Begging for assistance from players in the guild who are several levels higher is poor behavior. This may be defined as repetitive, or forceful, pleas for help with quests/bosses/areas which are well beyond the level of the player. Asking kindly for players to help is completely acceptable, as long as it does not become harrassment.

2. It is a player's choice to give items to other guild members for a charge or another item, so long as it does not become extortionate. Every player needs to gain gold, so giving out every item found is obviously not expected. That said, when highly useful items show up and are of no use, it would be nice to share them. Again, begging for items and getting upset when nobody contributes items to them is really not the best behavior. We have ~140 members right now, so nobody should expect to have items delivered to them. It should be considered a perk of being in a guild, but not an entitlement.

As I mentioned earlier, I have had my outbursts before, and I apologize. I try and keep in mind that this is a game we play, and I do so for enjoyment. I think everyone can agree that what we really want is a fun, clean, relaxed environment - not one full of rules. However, we still need to keep focus of how our actions may affect others.

I would agree that some changes are necessary to keep this guild a fun environment to play. I would agree that the things you have mentioned would help to that. I also feel it would be beneficial for our officers to meet and set out some guildlines or policies for adding members to the guild and removing members from the guild. I've had people ask whether we are recruiting or not, and honestly I dont know. Since we have over 100 members and I've never met half of them I would say we shouldn't be, but that doesnt necessarily mean that we aren't.
Also I think we should have a policy for removing people from the guild and their possible re-instatement. We had an incident last week where a member was removed by one officer and re-invited by another the next day. This isn't about which officer is right, its just that the two of them should probably talk about these things to avoid confusion.

I agree that a lot of things were going on in /g that were not acceptable. An officer stood up and took care of the problem only to have the person reinstated into the guild by someone who wasn't present during their behaviour. Things like this shouldn't be done without talking it over with the other officers first. Especially, the one who felt it necessary that that member be removed. Communicate with one another and work out some guidelines for removal/reinstatement of adverse members.
