Ok, so I got to play a bit of the game over the weekend, and my trial ended today. I did enjoy what I saw so far, although I only got to around level eight or so. The fact that my own skills are taken into account, on top of my character's stats is very appealing to me; I can plough through multitudes of enemies that are a bit above my level out in the open without breaking a sweat, but in the caverns and such, different tactics are required and tends to be a little more challenging, which seems to keep the game a little more involved than just sitting there and waiting for buffs to warm up while you mindlessly click enemies to auto-attack them.

But looking at the price of purchasing the game (Fifty bucks), and then the monthly fee being fifteen bucks a month, I really question whether it would be worth my time and money to invest into this game. I don't think I'd even mind paying a monthly fee for this game if it weren't nearly a third of the price of the game itself!

So I ask the veterans if they think it is truly worth the steep price, or if I should just pack up my bags and forget all about it? Though, I'm aware that I'm asking those with a bias, so of course I will take your opinions with a grain of salt, but I am still interested to hear them. I'm mostly worried that I will get tired of the game within a couple months and end up paying for half a month that I don't even play for (which I've done multitudes of times with other games; when I buy three month game cards for WOW I tend to play for about two months, then get bored and waste that third month). A pay as you play system would be so great for people like me. :P

The PlayNC store has it for $50. Target sells it for $40, and I could get 10% discount since I work there, but I haven't seen it anywhere else for any lower than that...

But really, it's not the retail price that gets me--it just doesn't seem like $15 a month is a very reasonable monthly fee.

Hmm well 15 a month is what all the major MMOs charge for a fee!

That is true, but I don't know. It doesn't seem like TR really is worth paying that much a month... I don't know. I'm sure one of these days I'll bite the bullet and pay up. :)

Anywho, thanks for the input.
