Fly-casting is used to catch fish, which can be sold at a Tavern or cooked using the Roasting skill.

To catch fish, you must have a Fishing Pole in your backpack and stand next to open water.

Fishing / Casting

Double-click on the fishing pole and then select the water next to you. If the area you are in has been depleted of fish resources, youll be told that. Move a short distance away and try again.

Otherwise, after seven seconds youll be told whether youve caught a fish (and if so, what kind). The odds of success are 31% plus 1/2 of your skill level plus 1/6 of your Dexterity. However, each time you use a fishing pole there is a 1% chance that the line will break. If the line breaks, you wont catch a fish regardless of your odds.

A new string costs 10 at a Provisioner Shop. To re-sting the fishing pole, double click on a ball of string and then select the pole. The exact kind of fish you catch is random:
Fish Type:
Striped Thod
Red Fleming
Greely
Casucs
Bluefin
Purker

Cooks must roast fish to make them edible. You can also sell raw fish at a Tavern. The prices of raw fish vary. When you sell raw fish to a Tavern, you can expect to receive about half this amount:

Purker
